Cats are fantastic creatures. In every little cat there is a lion. They are intelligent, independent and mostly they do as they like, but in the same time they are very devoted to ” their people”. We have two different breeds, Persians and Maine Coons. The Persians are a little bit prudent, while the Maine Coons are more free and easy. If you plan to get a cat, you have to think about the responsibility it is to take care of a living creature for many years. But if you decide to have a cat, you can choose between a domestic cat and a pedigree breed. A lot of people take their cats to cat-shows, and it is also possible to bring domestic cats to shows and get awards.
In our house we have both cats and a dog. The dog is a King Poodle called Elvis. He is a nice dog and he loves the cats. He has managed to build a unique relationship to every one of them. The first litter he experienced was very special. He was very proud when the mother let him ”sniff on” all the kittens. He spent all his time beside the kittens. After a few days I had some people there to view the kittens and pick out one for themselves. Elvis was very stressed, he didn`t want to be disturbed when he was babysitting. First he looked at the kittens mother (she was very calm and confident), then he looked at me and it was like he said: ” mother, they belong to us, they are not allowed to take them away, are they?” When our guests were leaving, he sat by the door and he checked everyone very carefully to be sure that they didn`t take our babies.
